China - Teaching Extracurricular Activities
Many students in inland schools have never been outside the province in which they were born. Though curious about the outside world, many lack direction and motivation. Teachers not only have the opportunity to encourage them in their academic pursuits, but also inspire them to have purpose, direction and meaning in their lives.
Teach music, art, dance, sports etc. in a community center setting. You will impact the lives and values of young students through day to day interactions. This also opens opportunities to interact with parents and familiies.
Located high in the mountains, this area is home to a minority people group. Winters can be bitterly cold and summers wet. Mandarin is a second language for many of the local residents. Life is simple, but culturally diverse.
