Literacy rates among women (especially Mwani and Makwé people), in the north of Mozambique are below 50%.
You would be teaching groups of women and children how to read and write. Some of the classes are in a school setting, others at a small Learning Centre. The classes are in Portuguese (and Kimwani, if the worker learns it). Classes provide good opportunities for contact into families.
Qualifications: Qualified teacher. Portuguese speaker (if not first language should be able to speak at least B1 level (CEFR)).
