Timor Leste is one of the youngest sovereign countries in the world having gained independence from Indonesia in 2002. Neglected under colonial rule, close to half of the population live in poverty, and as many as 70 percent face chronic food insecurity. MAF operates two GA8 aircraft in this country which serves isolated communities in this developing nation. Majority of the flights conducted by MAF are medical evacuations called 'medevacs' where critically ill patients are transferred for the Ministry of Health.
To continue our life saving work, we are now looking for our own 'super hero' to become the Country Director of our Timor Leste programme. Your role will be will be leading and inspiring the programme's multi-national team.
You will support the effective performance and wellbeing of the MAF team by overseeing the programme's general operations. You will work with local partners, regulatory authorities and country officials to achieve the programme goals and be instrumental in helping MAF to achieve its vision. In this role, you will ensure MAF's activities have an impact in places of greatest needs by building alliances and developing partnerships with service users.
Other responsibilities will include the effective and efficient use of resources by working all departments to ensure resource management systems are maintained.
