π The Role
As our Facilities Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for all things property and vehicles in East Arnhem Land. From hangars to houses, cars to coffee machines, you’ll make sure everything is safe, compliant, and running like clockwork.
π Your world will include:
Coordinating maintenance across 20 houses and 2 hangars.
Looking after all MAF office spaces and work areas.
Managing vehicles (except aircraft!) to keep them road-ready and reliable.
Overseeing contractors, volunteers, and the occasional enthusiastic DIYer.
Making sure everything meets safety standards and local regulations.
π§ What you’ll bring:
A practical head for maintenance and a heart for people.
Organisational superpowers—juggling budgets, projects, and priorities.
The ability to lead others, whether staff, volunteers, or contractors.
A commitment to doing things well—because excellence matters.
Beyond the tools and timetablesThis role is also about being part of our MAF family. You’ll join in prayer times, support and encourage your teammates, and live out your faith through service.
Why this role?
Because you’ll be more than a Facilities Manager. You’ll be a key player in helping MAF keep its mission moving—literally. Safe homes, working vehicles, and solid hangars mean safe flights and thriving communities.
What we’re looking for:
A building trade qualification and current licences.
At least 3 years’ experience in your licensed building trade.
At least 2 years of building project management experience.
Cross-cultural experience, with a heart for serving in diverse settings.
Willingness to travel and temporarily live in Aboriginal communities, engaging with respect and sensitivity toward Aboriginal culture.
