The Chaplain’s primary mission is to invite students to explore the life and teachings of Jesus. By creating spaces for worship, service, and Biblical exploration, the Chaplain nurtures the spiritual growth of the community. Through a life of conviction and integrity, the Chaplain serves as an authentic witness to the Christian faith, disciplining students in their own journey of faith.
● Providing discipleship and pastoral care by building meaningful relationships with students, offering them guidance and encouragement, and supporting them through empathetic mentorship.
● Facilitating spiritual life through the oversight of small groups, daily devotions, worship services, and school assemblies (chapel).
● Spearheading Spiritual Emphasis Days by designing themes, managing logistics, and leading the delivery of programs for Primary and Secondary schools.
● Involving oneself in co-curricular activities and camp, as appropriate.
● Oversee and participate in student spiritual growth programs/activities.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree required and a graduate degree in theology, missions, or some other Christian field is preferred.
● A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chaplain or similar role is preferred.
● Mature Christian with deep understanding of Christian education principles.
● Demonstrated ability in relating to and maintaining good personal relationships with adolescents.
● Willingness to affirm and live in accordance with the HOPE International School Statement of Faith and Sexuality Statement
● Experience in working and counseling with young people in youth ministry or children's ministry is preferred.
