Transition Training Taster for Remote Indigenous Ministries (T-TRIM Taster) 2025
T-TRIM trains Christians who is or hopes to be working with Aboriginal Australians.
T-TRIM addresses the key issues involved in effectively working with Remote Australian Aboriginal peoples. This course is primarily for new people to the NT but also a great professional development opportunity.
The Taster is held in Alice Springs NT and content will include:
· Culture and Values
· Indigenous Worldview
· Interacting with Community folk politely
· Kinship
· Clash of Worlds e.g. task and relationships, etc
· Are you in Culture Shock?
· Insider vs Outsider - which one are you?
· Aboriginal Languages
· Living in Two Worlds
· Christian Spirituality in Aboriginal Australian context
· Where to from Here?
The Taster is a compressed version of Missions Interlink Transition Training for Remote Indigenous Ministries (T-TRIM) course. And T-TRIM is based on Missions Interlink Transition Training course. Facilitators from various mission agencies have worked together to adapt this course for Aboriginal Australian Remote context. These missions include: Coordinate, Wycliffe, Pioneers, Nungalinya, Youth With A Mission Darwin and World Outreach, with guests from CMS and Local Leaders International. In Alice Springs, we have facilitators from Wycliffe, Pioneers and a video from Baptist in Mission.
