Re-Entry Retreat Victoria
Refreshment for cross-cultural workers in transition. A residential retreat for singles, couples, and families. There are three strands to the retreat: Adult, TCK Connect and young adult TCKs.
The adult program offers content addressing grief and loss, transitioning well, reflection times on origin and call, gifts given and received, fears and difficulties and vision for the future - experienced corporately, individually and in small groups. During the retreat, there are opportunities for worship, celebration of your service, relaxation, private conversations, prayer and time alone with God.
You can expect to be heard, understood and appreciated by others with similar experiences. You will be offered the opportunity to recognise and acknowledge how your experiences have enriched and changed you.
Some cross-cultural workers will be in transition from one location or position to another. Others may have concluded cross-cultural ministry and find it beneficial to attend a few months or even several years after they leave their field of service.
The retreat is conducted by experienced cross-cultural workers from various fields and agencies. Throughout the retreat the facilitators will be available for informal sharing and prayer.
There is an exciting concurrent program for school-age children, led by adult MKs/ TCKs. This program is called ‘TCK-Connect’, based on the premise that for many MKs/ TCKs their transition is to a place that is unfamiliar. As David Pollock wisely observed: “The parents are coming home but the children have left theirs!” The program is designed to support the TCKs in this process through a structure that facilitates sharing their experiences and memories in a safe place (e.g., scrapbooking), learning from the life of Joseph’s ups and downs, understanding their TCK experiences and generally having lots of fun with their fellow TCKs.

A program for tertiary-aged young adults 18+ is the third strand.
This retreat caters to young adults aged 18 and older who have completed high school and are exploring their next steps.
Have you recently come back to Australia, either alone or with family, after living overseas? The TCK Young Adult Retreat provides a supportive environment for you to reflect on your experiences, forge new connections, and gain the confidence needed to transition into Australian life.
Through engaging discussions, worship, fun activities, and meaningful interactions, you'll celebrate your past while preparing for the future.
Whether you're entering university, starting work, or taking a gap year, this retreat equips you with the practical skills to thrive, make friends, and confidently embrace the next chapter.
