Asia Evangelistic Fellowship International (AEFI) is a not-for-profit, non-denominational Christian organisation dedicated to reaching Asia with the Gospel.

We partner with local pastors and leaders across Asia, supporting evangelism, church growth, theological training, education initiatives, and community services. Our work is made possible through the generosity of Australian donors.

About the Role

We are seeking a suitably experienced and qualified person, perhaps recently retired or semi-retired, to undertake the role of Treasurer of AEFI, a body incorporated under the Western Australian Incorporations Act 2015.

The Treasurer will oversee AEFI’s financial stewardship, ensure regulatory compliance and maintenance of accurate financial records, and provide timely financial reporting and governance support.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Management
• Oversee the management of AEFI bank accounts and ensure all funds received are collected, receipted, and allocated correctly.
• Safeguard and prudently oversee the management of AEFI’s finances.
• Ensure authorised payments are made on time.

Record Keeping

• Ensure that secure and accurate financial records, statements, and reports clearly reflect AEFI’s financial position.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Lodge quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) with the ATO.
• Provide annual Workers’ Compensation wage declarations to the insurer.
• Provide financial reports for internal meetings and government requirements

Audit & Governance

• Maintain compliance with Part 5 of the WA Incorporations Act.
• Assist auditors during annual financial review.
• Ensure compliance with internal Financial Procedures and they are current.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience using Xero would be preferable
• Tertiary qualifications in Business financial management would be preferable
• Experience in working with incorporated not-for profit bodies would be preferable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Team-oriented with a people-focused approach
• Alignment with AEFI’s mission, vision, and values
