Job Description
Since August 2016, a new Christian International School is opened to serve TCK's, local and expatriate children. It is located in the northern suburbs of Yangon, It will offer an international curriculum from a distinctively Christian perspective.
You will be serving the school as a member of OMF, either as a long-term member (Associate - min. 2 yrs) or short-term candidate under the Serve Asia program (1 mth-1 yr). Your commitment to the school can be either full time or part time. All applicants coming through OMF will fulfill the requirements of both OMF and the school.
Yangon is a large Asian city with around 5 million inhabitants. It has most modern amenities - including supermarkets, a vast range of restaurants, mobile phones, basic medical and dental services. Internet and electricity supply are rapidly improving. There are many flights daily from both local and international airlines that connect Myanmar to the rest of Asia and beyond.
Responsibilities
Primary teachers will be required to teach from a Christian worldview adapting the UK curriculum for this purpose.
Secondary teachers would similarly teach and model a consistent Christian worldview in their areas of subject specialisation, preparing the students for Cambridge IGCSE, and from yr 2019 for GCE A and AS levels.
ESL/Special Needs teachers will support learners with various needs. Experience with diagnostic and standardised testing will be essential.
A qualified nurse will support the holistic approach of the school. It could be a part-time or full-time role.
Qualifications
All teachers must have a degree in Education or a teaching credential from their home country. Relevant professional qualifications and registration in the home country is required.
Experience both in the role and in serving as part of a team in a non-denominational Christian and cross-cultural environment would be beneficial.
Each staff should be a committed Christian with a passion to communicate God's heart for children and youth.

Candidates should be prepared to:
* Be flexible and adaptable in regard to weather, food, language and culture.
* Learn some functional Burmese. While not essential, it will make life more enjoyable in Myanmar.
* Work together with both local and international staff. Be able to accept and respect cross-cultural differences.
