Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help and hope in over 30 developing countries. For over 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce, and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
We have a great opportunity for a Strategic Development Manager to join our MAF journey and be part of our International Strategic Development Team.
**NOTE: This position is open to those with a current ‘right to work’ in Australia or those who are willing to obtain working rights due to Immigration restrictions. As part of the recruitment process, a Criminal History check will be required for the successful candidate.**
In this role, we will see you bring your extensive expertise and capacity to enhance our strategic development in various MAF programs through partnership-building with stakeholders and national authorities. This will help to identify and develop new strategic partnerships, enhancing and driving the impact of MAF operations around the world.
By initiating contact with MAF partners, and by working closely with multiple stakeholders, you will functionalise MAF’s operating plans, helping to activate strategic growth. You will do this by traveling to various MAF programs to gain understanding and explore new projects and partners. In the process, you will provide strategic training and support to staff and management in the adoption of an agile approach to identify opportunities that will enhance in-country capacity to plan, execute and review development initiatives.
Building and maintaining networks of rural churches and community groups is an essential skill, as you will evaluate the need and implement responses, including the use of specific subsidies, that enhance the value of MAF’s support for these groups.
You will also execute a wide variety of work including preparing proposals and presentations, networking to gain feedback, and establishing new implementation methodologies. You will also work closely with multiple stakeholders to achieve critical outcomes that align with MAF’s purpose.
In this role, it is essential to ensure effective management of feedback and advice on program initiatives to the wider organisation (including local and international leadership teams). This will enable resource-gathering, communication, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of these initiatives.
In this role, you will report to the Manager New Strategic Development for performance.
