Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing in over 30 developing countries, for more than 75 years! MAF transports patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
One of these places is Arnhem Land, a historical region of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is also a vast wilderness area, defined by rocky escarpments, gorges, rivers and waterfalls. MAF has served the people in Arnhem Land for over 45 years by sharing God’s love through aviation and technology. To continue providing this valuable service we need a Quality Safety and Security Manager.
In this role, you will work closely with the Programme Director as you manage the day to day running of the Quality and Safety Management Systems within the Arnhem Land Programme and other Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAFI) programmes operating under and the Australian AOC (including Mareeba and Timor-Leste).
As a member of the management team in the Arnhem Land programme you will be at the sharp end of transformation, as you work with the team to reach isolated communities. You will be responsible to maintain, and ensure the effective running of the Quality and Safety Management Systems within the Arnhem Land Programme.
You will also assist the MAFI Security Manager by carrying out Aviation Security Training, managing the local Aviation Security Program, as well as being the local representative for the Drug and Alcohol Management Programme.
The role may also involve leading a small team of part-time Quality and Safety Officers or representatives.
The Quality, Safety and Security Manager will ensure that all Quality, Safety and Security standards are met and followed by the Arnhem Land programme and any other Programme under their remit by:

You will also be guiding the Programmes in seeking out and eliminating potential hazards and threats, promoting a safe environment, and leading investigations of safety related events.

You also will provide your expertise and assist the Departments Managers, Arnhem Land Country Director and Regional Managers to seek opportunities for continual improvement.
Promoting and improving the overall quality, safety and security culture – Maintaining a good working relationship with all stakeholders and staff is essential.
