MAF has been serving in South Sudan for many years, working with its partners to help provide essential food and medical supplies to this country. In the South Sudan programme, MAF operates five Cessna Caravans efficient in shuttle services and charters. To ensure we keep these operation, delivering high quality service is a top priority.
To continue this invaluable work, we are now looking for a Quality Manager/Pilot to join our team. You will safely and efficiently operate MAF C182 aircraft in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) for the South Sudan programme. In addition, you will work together with the South Sudan Safety Manager in accordance with the MAFI quality manual.
This person will need to be a strategic thinker to promote a "quality culture" within the programme. This will be done through investing in the education and training of staff. This individual will also be an excellent relationship builder to contine the work with internal and external customers. You will do this by working closely with the South Sudan Safety Manager and Contry Director to establish corrective and preventative actions and timely completion of non-conformances.
Your role will be to actively maintain the QMS database and manage records of all forms submitted under this system. You will also seek opportunities to improve the system and participate in the South Sudan Programme Safety Action group. You will establish a schedule for regular audits to monitor the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and initiate management review meetings annually.
Other quality managerial duties will include co-ordinating MAF International audits, planning and performing regular internal and supplier audits.
Your flying duties will include conducting mission flights in accordance with MAF procedures and providing a customer focused flight service. You will maintain flying qualifications in accordance with MAF and national regulations e.g night flying.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
Successfully completed and obtained GCSE and A-level qualifications
Effective communication skills in English equivalent to English proficiency level 4
ICAO Commercial Pilots license with instrument rating
Aviation Medical - Class 1
5 years experience of working in the field of aircraft maintenance or flight operations
A minimum of 500 flight hours experience
Demonstrated proficiency in and knowledge of aircraft performance and loading, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, weather, aircraft instrumentation, crew/cockpit resource management, pilot decision making, safety and quality systems
Relevant licenses required by national authorities
Desirable
Further education i.e. degree or equivalent in any field
Some experience of working in commercial aviation highly recommended
Project management experience
Previous experience within an aviation environment
