Job Description
They are the largest minority group in Thailand. They are very open to talk about spiritual matters but have little opportunity to know a Christian. Their close knit lifestyle in their community means that they are a very relational people. Building a genuine relationship with them is vital as an expression of your faith.
This role requires maturity and and patience. This role gives status and you are often well respected as you have to negotiate with the community leaders to do projects. Gaining trust is the foremost task.
It is a suburb of a major city with many schools, universities and polytechnics. But issues with drugs, teenage pregnancies, school dropout, alcoholism are all too common in these communities. Nonetheless, people are so friendly that they want you to be part of their lives when you demonstrate a Christ-like lifestyle.
Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and coordinating Community Development (CD) projects in alignment with the vision of creating self sustaining and reproducible models. Co-ordinate projects for short term volunteers and SAW.
Serve alongside our team in our city's largest minority.
Need to achieve a good level of Thai (level 3) while in first term (for those serving long term).
Qualifications
Experience in CD would be an advantage but could be learned on the job.
