MAF serves in 37 countries with around 130 aircraft reaching some of the most remote places in the world. We bring new hope to families and communities that are trying to make a daily living. It is our desire to see these areas transformed to bring about a brighter tomorrow. MAF transports patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
Do you have a proven background in Communications? Able to manager multiple stakeholders effectively and sensitively?
We are currently looking for a Regional Communications Manager for our Africa region who will take the lead in overseeing the capture and provision of a frequent and detailed flow of information from the MAF Africa programmes to the wider MAF Community.
Your role will be to ensure that MAF Resourcing Groups receive accurate, detailed and timely information to support fund-raising activities, staff recruitment and prayer activity.
You will supervise the Communications Officers based within MAFI’s Africa programmes: providing guidance, support and training, and cover when required.
In the event of disaster response within the region you will co-ordinate the gathering of information, imagery and film on a daily basis, making it available to the wider MAF community within 24 hours, in collaboration with the Disaster Response and Ashford Communications teams.
You will ensure all communications provide a positive image of the people we serve and protect the reputation of MAF. This will include implementation of data protection requirements and promoting ethical story gathering practices across the region.
You will also promote consistent standards of asset management in the digital asset library (the primary tool for sharing communication materials across MAF groups), enabling efficient and effective search-ability of resources by users.
*For this position you will need to be able to travel, sometimes at short notice if reporting on disaster response*
